The MVCSC is proud to announce that Superintendent Dr. Jack Parker has been named the 2024 Superintendent of the Year for District V by members of the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents (IAPSS). District V includes Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Marion, and Shelby counties. Area superintendents selected Dr. Parker based on the nominees’ qualifications, accomplishments and impact on their school community.

The Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation is pleased to share and congratulate the third cohort of MV Ambassadors on their graduation. The special group of community members learns behind-the-scenes information about Mt. Vernon operations and programming in eight meetings throughout the school year. MV Ambassadors are empowered with school knowledge about every department and become a resource for the community.

Ms. Ashley Gustin has been selected as the new principal of Mt. Vernon Intermediate School. Ms. Gustin comes to Mt. Vernon from South Madison Community Schools as an assistant principal at Pendleton Heights Middle School. In addition to her depth of qualifications and leadership skills, she also has experience opening an intermediate school with 1,100 students at Anderson Community Schools.
